Accor Hotels has a promotion running which I’ve only just picked up on and it’s one that could be of use if you’re looking to book a stay in Europe. While Accor has hotels all over the world it is in Europe where the bulk of its properties are to be found (if you’re visiting France it’s almost impossible to avoid Accor).

The “stay for three pay for two” promotion is as simple as it sounds although it’s worth noting that only 2,000 out of Accor’s “over 3,700 hotels” are actually participating.

Thoughts

The fact that only 54% of Accor’s hotels are participating in this offer taps in to a pet peeve of mine – I hate it when hotel chains allow hotels to dip in and out of promotions and loyalty schemes as and when it suits them. The rules should be simple – you’re either in or out – you shouldn’t be able to have both.

Anyway, now that I’ve got that rant off my chest here are some things to consider:

The deal is based on a guest booking a “flexible, unrestricted rate”…..which is fine if you normally book flexible rates but not much good to you if you prefer booking the cheaper restricted rates.

Be sure to check the cost of 3 nights for pre-paid (restricted) bookings before you book the 3 for 2 deal as the 3 for 2 rate may be high enough that pre-paid rate is still cheaper.
