Updated 30 June 2017

As a lot of you will probably know, between 1 and 16 July 2017 BA’s “mixed fleet” crews will be going on strike thanks to an ever increasingly acrimonious pay dispute that goes back over a year. Although BA flights to/from most UK airports are expected to be unaffected, the airline has now started to list the London Heathrow services which will fall foul of the impending industrial action.

My understanding is that a pay deal was actually agreed between the union and British Airways but that punitive action that the airline is taking against the cabin crew that took part in the last strike (in January) is now a big hurdle.

On the positive side of things any disruption caused should be nothing compared to the mayhem caused a month ago when BA forgot how its computer systems worked….but that’s probably not much consolation to those who are going to be affected.

The Current Status As We Know It

The Independent is reporting that “dozens of flights have been cancelled” so far, including a number of flights on the Heathrow – Doha route (now also confirmed by a reader in the comments section below) so, combining what BA has actually announced and what BA has told passengers (amazing the two don’t appear to be the same) this is the situation:

Flights to/from London Gatwick, London City and Stansted will operate as normal as will the airline’s weekend services to the Mediterranean to/from Birmingham, Bristol and Manchester.

But Heathrow will be hit.

For the time being that’s all the cancellations I’ve seen BA confirm and heard about from readers but I suspect we’ll probably hear about quite a few more (I’ll try to keep you updated via this blog as and when I hear of more cancellations).

If BA have informed you of any cancellations that you don’t see here please share them in the comment sand I’ll edit this post – thanks!

    • Thanks! Have BA posted these somewhere as they’re still not listed in their info for travel agents?

  2. I found them by searching the flights on their website. I am scheduled to fly from BWI to LHR on the 12th and I was doing some digging to find patterns to see what the likelihood of my flight being canceled was.
