TravelingForMiles.com may receive commission from card issuers. Some or all of the card offers that appear on TravelingForMiles.com are from advertisers and may impact how and where card products appear on the site. With all the upcoming changes to Marriott Rewards I can’t remember a time when I have needed to be able to track my path to lifetime status more…but Marriott apparently disagrees.

Not all that long ago it was easy to find out how close you were to the various lifetime thresholds simply by logging in to your Marriott Rewards account and knowing where to look…but that’s not the case any more.

Now, when you first log in to your Marriott account, via the Marriott.com homepage, and click on your name in the top right corner of the page, this is the sort of screen you can expect to see:

Historically, if you clicked on “nights” or “details” you would see a page that would furnish you with your progress to Marriott lifetime status but, nowadays, this is what you’ll see:

You’re only shown how many lifetime nights you have spent at Marriott properties and that’s only half the information you actually need.

Marriott is changing how lifetime status is earned from August 2018 ….

…..but, until the end of 2018, it will still be possible to earn Marriott lifetime status the old way – based on the number of nights spent at Marriott properties (and bonus nights earned) and the number of Marriott Rewards points accumulated:

So how do you find out how many lifetime points you have earned without having to call up  Marriott?

Well, luckily for us there’s still a working link to an older version of the Marriott website which allows us to see all the information we’ve been used to seeing.

This is the old link you have to use

If you use the link above and log in to your Marriott Rewards account this is what you should see:

Now if you click on the word “nights” a pop-up will open up showing you all your details:

Crucially, at the bottom of this pop-up, you’ll see your lifetime nights and points totals to date.

Bottom Line

I’m still slowly making my way to lifetime Platinum status and, as I want to achieve this by the end of the year (to ensure I’m grandfathered into “lifetime Platinum Premier” status) knowing where I’m up to is very important to me.

Having Marriott hide the number of lifetime points I’ve earned was more than just mildly annoying so access to the older version of the Marriott website where I can track my progress is very helpful indeed.
