Thoughts In Brief
- Choice Privileges Rewards points have some annoying limitations to them but at ~0.48 cents each they’re pretty cheap and, even if you can use them for hotel stay, they may be good value for conversion to airline miles if a good conversion bonus comes up later in the year.
- IHG is offering points at ~0.58 cents each which isn’t at all tempting considering they were just selling them for 0.5 cents each.
- Hilton is offering points at 0.5 cents each but as I value them at 0.4 cents each I can’t see the value here.
- Some of the Vegas deals look interesting. $2,000 seems like a lot but when you see what you’re actually getting at the Bellagio the cost doesn’t look too bad.
- The Avis deal where $30 gets you any car for a day is definitely good value but I’m not sure that the Hertz deals are quite as enticing.
Bottom Line
If any of these deals interest you make sure you put a reminder in your calendar so you don’t forget to visit the Daily Getaways site on the correct day.
Personally I’ll be avoiding all the points sales that weeks 1 and 2 are offering and I’ll be hoping for a good Hyatt promotion at some point later in the series.
