Another quarter is over and another one is about to begin – that always means a new set of Chase Freedom bonuses are about to go live.
Sunday is the first day of a new quarter so, starting then, Chase Freedom credit card holders will be able to earn 5% cash back or 5 Ultimate Rewards points per dollar (if they also hold a Chase Sapphire card) when spending in three new categories:
- Gas Stations
- Lyft
- Walgreens
The categories are narrower and more specific this quarter (Walgreens rather than drugstores and Lyft rather than all ride sharing services) but there should still be ample opportunity to maximise the points on offer by spending up to $1,500 between those categories by 30 September 2018.
Don’t forget that Chase Pay app users can earn 35 cents-per-gallon in fuel savings after their first 5-gallon fill-up at participating Shell stations when they link their loyalty account and pay at the pump.
Think You Can’t Max This Out?
If you’re struggling to spend $1,500 in the three categories on offer this quarter consider bringing forward some spending.
Walgreens will sell you gift cards to numerous eateries, shops and stores and, as long as these are establishments you would normally frequent, these can be used to increase your Walgreens spending during the quarter without you spending funds you wouldn’t otherwise have spent.
