Marriott Rewards is offering 500 of their points to anyone who follows them on Instagram between now and 21 June 2016.
The 500 free Marriott Rewards points promotion appeared on Facebook and seems to be part of an effort to showcase the fact that you can now book Marriott properties through Instagram….
…although that didn’t appear to work for me on my iPhone.
I’m not convinced that you actually need to follow Marriott Rewards on Instagram to actually get the points. The link supplied for those who wish to claim their points just asks for the email account associated with your Marriott Rewards account….it doesn’t mention anything about your Instagram account or ask for any verification that you’ve actually followed Marriott Rewards on Instagram.
Bottom Line
I can’t see the harm in filling in your Marriott Rewards account email address (link here) even if you don’t follow Marriott Rewards on Instagram or, if like me, you follow them already. There’s nothing to lose and, while 500 Marriott Rewards points isn’t going to get you a free night anywhere, it’s still free points! 🙂
