British Airways has published some very good Business Class fares to Asia for departures from a variety of European cities so, if you’ve been considering a trip to a destination like Bangkok, Singapore or Hong Kong, this could be a good time to put some plans in motion.

As far as I can tell these aren’t fares being offered in a specific sale – the fare terms simply state that reservations must be made 60 days before departure – so these fares could disappear at any time.

  • Travel mid April through to the end of August 2017 on all the routes I mention below with some routes offering great fares into October and beyond.
  • Trips of all lengths are available
  • Unlimited stopovers permitted…but at a cost of €100 for the first two and €200 for any stopovers after that.
  • Accompanied children under 12 cost 67% of the adult fare

All these fares/flights can be credited to any oneworld airline rewards program but I suspect most who read this blog will be crediting to the British Airways Executive Club or American Airlines AAdvantage.

Here are some of the good fares I found (there may well be more):

Amsterdam – Bangkok from €1,444 Round Trip

And here are a set of flights priced up – note that you depart form a different European city than the one you arrive back into:

Düsseldorf/Vienna to Hong Kong From €1,766 Round Trip

Here’s an example fare…once again arriving back into a different European city to the one from which the trip originated.

How To Find These Fares

I used the ITA Matrix Search to find these fares and here are the parameters I used:

Feel free to insert whatever European cities you happy to depart from in the “departing from” field but, if you want to search most of the major European cities (which is what I did), then copy and paste the following (excluding the quotation marks):

“DUB, CDG, BRU, AMS, OSL, CPH, ARN, HEL, MUC, FRA, DUS, TXL, VIE, MXP, FCO, VCE, PSA, MAD, BCN, ZRH, GVA, BEG, WAW, ORY, SVG, NCE, OTP, LHR, LGW, MAN, EDI”

Bottom Line

These are British Airways flights and not Qatar Airways flights so you’ll need to set your expectations of the Business Class cabin appropriately…but there are still pretty great fares.

For those crediting flights to the BAEC there are a good number of Avios and Tier points on offer here and, for American Airlines AAdvantage loyalists these fares offer a very good way of earning cheap Elite Qualifying Dollars (earned at 25% of the miles flown) and a good stash of Elite Qualifying Miles and Redeemable miles too.
