The premium airline that seems to specialise in highly discounted Business Class fares is back at it again – Qatar Airways has posted some good and some truly excellent Business Class fares for travel between Europe and Asia starting right now and into 2017. With Qatar Airways being part of the oneworld alliance there are a lot of Avios and AAdvantage miles available with these fares.

Qatar Airways appears to have two separate promotions on right now that are definitely worth a look:

Qatar Airways Business Class Companion Deal

This is a promotion we’ve been seeing on a more regular basis from Qatar Airways and this time its for departures from Warsaw.

Link to the promotion page

The main terms and conditions:

  • Fares are based on two passengers traveling together
  • Fares must be booked by 9 October 2016
  • Travel is for 5 October 2016 to 31 March 2017

The promotion page is in Polish and priced in Polish Złoty so here are the destinations priced in dollars, Euros and Pounds:

USD EURO GBP
Guangzhou (CAN) 1,593.80 1,409.90 1,226.00
Bangkok (BKK) 1,595.10 1,411.05 1,227.00
Hanoi (HAN) 1,675.70 1,482.35 1,289.00
Hong Kong (HKG) 1,682.20 1,488.10 1,294.00
Phuket (HKT) 1,775.80 1,570.90 1,366.00
Singapore (SIN) 1,816.10 1,606.55 1,397.00
Bali (DPS) 1,917.50 1,696.25 1,475.00
Cape Town (CPT) 1,974.70 1,746.85 1,519.00
Sydney (SYD) 3,186.30 2,818.65 2,451.00

Don’t forget that this is a companion fare promotion so you will need to book for two people to get these fares and you won’t be able to see them on ITA Matrix.

Of those fares the Hong Kong, Hanoi and Bangkok fares are the ones that probably offer the better value…although Cape Town isn’t a cheap place to get to for large parts of the year so $1,975 isn’t a terrible price.

Stay well away from the Singapore fare as there’s a much better deal coming up in the next part of this post.

Example Flights

It looks as if you can book these fares with some pretty decent fights – i.e no horrendous layovers!

Here’s an example of a Bangkok trip I looked up (click to enlarge):

qatar-warsaw-bangkok

No long layover and the flights are on A330s and the fantastic A380

You’ll have to play around with dates on all the routes to make sure you don’t have too long of a trip…but the availability looks to be there.

Qatar Airways Business Class Fares From Sofia

This promotion doesn’t require two people to travel together so will probably be of interest to a lot more travelers.

The main terms and conditions:

  • Fares must be booked by 18 October 2016
  • Travel is for 27 September 2016 to 30 March 2017
  • Minimum stay 7 nights**
  • Maximum stay 1 month

** Although the T&Cs say the minimum stay is 7  nights I’ve found fares available on stays of 5 nights

USD EURO GBP
Singapore (SIN) 1,293.60 1,155.00 993.30
Bangkok (BKK) 1,540.00 1,375.00 1,182.50
Delhi (DEL) 1,562.40 1,395.00 1,199.70
Beijing (PEK) 1,646.40 1,470.00 1,264.20
Shanghai (PVG) 1,646.40 1,470.00 1,264.20
Ho Chi Minh (SGN) 1,652.00 1,475.00 1,268.50
Krabi (KBV) 1,825.60 1,630.00 1,401.80
Hong Kong (HKG) 1,880.48 1,679.00 1,443.94
Hanoi (HAN) 1,881.60 1,680.00 1,444.80

The stand out fare here is the one to Singapore for $1,294 – that’s fantastic! I’m not sure I’ve ever seen a lower Business Class fare to Singapore (outside of mistake fares).

The only issue with this fare is that it involves some pretty tight connections in Doha….but if Qatar Airways is willing to market these flight like this then presumably they’re confident of no mis-connects.

qatar-airways-singapore

It’s also worth pointing out that the Sofia – Doha leg is on a narrowbody A320….although the longer flight (Doha – Singapore) is on the excellent Airbus A350.

Bottom Line

Don’t forget that you will earn Tier Points and Avios with these fares if you credit your flights to the British Airways Executive Club and you’ll earn elite qualifying miles, elite qualifying dollars and AAdvantage miles if you credit your flights to American Airlines’ AAdvantage program.

If you’re looking to fly to Asia in comfort than there could be some good deals for you in the fares I’ve listed above – just make sure you check the connection times and aircraft that you will be flying to make sure you maximise the value you get out of your trip.

All the fares mentioned above are now available to book on QatarAirways.com

  1. Thank you for finding this.

I would nudge the SOF-SIN flight but the DOH connection is too tight for leisure travel.

I could spend 50 minutes in the shower, let alone anything else!
