Qatar Airways has launched another round of its “companion fare” promotions where, when you buy two Business Class tickets, you can get some truly fantastic fares for travel from Europe to the Middle East, Africa and Asia.

With Roundtrip fares to Dubai from under €900, Johannesburg under €1,250, Singapore under €1,180 and a whole lot more just like that, there is a great selection of fares and destinations to choose from.

The Fares

Qatar Airways is offering this promotion worldwide so you should check your individual country HERE to see the best offers for you.

I’ve taken some of the more popular departure points in Europe and some of the more popular destinations in the Middle East, Africa and Asia and I’ve put together a table showing the fares between the various cities – you’ll find this table toward the end of this article.

Here are the top 3 fares for each destination:

I haven’t included all the countries in the table above, just a selection. If you’d like to find fares from other countries in Europe and around the world then check out www.qatarairways.com and select the county of your choice in the top right corner of your screen.

I’ll be publishing a separate post showing the fares from the UK later today.

Considerations

The cheapest fare to your destination of choice may not always be the best choice to go with – there are other considerations too:

  • Cost to get to the departure point (if you don’t already live in the country offering the cheapest fare)
  • Convenience of flight times – some flights may leave early in the morning meaning you’ll have to factor in the cost of a hotel for the night before departure if you’re flying in from elsewhere.
  • Length of trip – some fares may offer shorter layover times in Doha than others.
  • The aircraft being employed – most Qatar Airways Business Class cabins are fantastic…but some are better than others and I’d be prepared to pay a little more to fly in the A380, 787 or A350.

Earning Miles

Qatar Airways is a member of the oneworld alliance but, as of 1 November, it would appear that Qatar Airways Business Class fares that book into Fare Code “R” no longer earn any British Airways Avios or Tier Points (these fares book into R class in most cases). At the time of writing this change does not appear to have affected Iberia but this may well change in the coming hours/days.

At this point there is no indication on that there will be any changes to earnings in the American Airlines AAdvantage program so that may be a good alternative for those looking to make the most of these fares.

Bottom Line

I haven’t had the chance to check the details of all the fares but, based on Qatar Airways’ headline fares there are some fantastic deals to be had.

Flying to the Maldives from just €1,362 per person in one of the world’s best Business Class cabins is a steal and I don’t remember the last time I saw a Business Class fare to Cape Town as low as €1,356.

Qatar Airways is only releasing a limited number of seats at these prices so, if you’re tempted by any deals you find, I would book sooner rather than later.
