Hilton has launched its winter sale for properties in Europe, the Middle East and Africa and the booking window is so large it should be virtually impossible for you not to find dates that work for you. Better still, if you stay before 31 December you can earn up to triple Hilton HHonors points if you book through the Hilton app and you can earn 5,000 bonus points per stay for all stays made before 31 January 2017.

It’s a points bonanza! 🙂

Hilton’s Winter EMEA Sale – Terms & Conditions

  • Offer available for properties in the UK, Europe, Middle East & Africa.
  • Book by 31 January 2017
  • Sale prices available for stays completed on weekends between 18 November 2016 and 31 December 2017 except as otherwise indicated.
  • Full prepayment required at the time of booking.

  • Other blackout dates may apply.

Important: although Hilton’s T&Cs say that the sale prices are only available for stays on weekends I’ve been able to find numerous examples in the past where the prices were available on weekdays too…so don’t let that clause put you off searching.

Hilton’s Sale Offers

I searched to see what the prices at the Hilton Park Lane were like and I couldn’t find a nightly rate lower than £254/$315…and that’s less than impressive.

I had a bit more luck with the Waldorf Hilton in London where I found rates from £165/$205. There weren’t that many nights available at those rates but, for a central London hotel, that’s not a bad price at all.

I found some great rates starting at around AED 562/$153 at the Conrad Dubai and the Hilton Jumeirah Beach, which is probably more family friendly, has rates as low as AED 486/$132 per night. There are dates for stays in December, January and February so I’m not quoting grates for the middle of the Arabian summer when it’s almost unbearably hot.

These could be great for a winter break away from the cold and rain.

Italy is one of my favorite countries in Europe so I was particularly keen to see what offers were available…but only during months where the weather may be good.

If you’re prepared to gamble a bit with the weather then there are some great rates at the Hilton Molino Stucky Venice for stays in April….

….and you’ll see just how good those rates are when you see what prices are like for some dates in May…..

If you’re looking for a more economical option in Venice then the Hilton Garden Inn has some dates with pretty good rates (that rhymes!) during the warmer months:

If you feel like visiting Paris in December – cold but still very beautiful – the Hilton Paris Opera would probably be my choice (even thought the rooms can be a little small)…..

…and, while not cheap, the prices aren’t too bad…for Paris!

There are lots more deals like those I’ve outlined above available on the Hilton website.

Bottom Line

There are some very good deals out there and some hotels that, as far as I can tell, have made little effort to offer some good sale rates….so make sure you search carefully and understand what the regular (non-sale) rates look like.

If you’re looking for the best deals try to avoid the European vacations (July and August tend to be pretty expensive in cities like Paris) and be prepared to compromise a little on the weather – the weather may be a little worse earlier and later in the year but the prices can be pretty impressive too.
