JetBlue’s lie-flat Mint First Class product has won a lot of praise from the frequent flyer community so it’s always good news when the airline increases the number of routes on which it is offered….and that’s exactly what’s happening.

JetBlue has made a number of route announcements recently so, to keep things simple, I’ll tackle them one by one.

  1. JetBlue Will Offer Mint First Class Between New York & Costa Rica

From 15 December 2018 JetBlue will offer a seasonal Saturday service between New York’s JFK Airport and Liberia in Costa Rica’s using aircraft equipped with the airline’s Mint First Class product.

The currently published schedule looks like this:

Flight 1691 JFK 10:25 – 14:29 LIB
Flight 1692 LIB 16:15 – 22:14 JFK

Per JetBlue, Liberia becomes the airline’s first Mint city in Latin America and JetBlue will be the only airline to operate regularly scheduled flights with a lie-flat premium seat between Costa Rica and the U.S.

  1. JetBlue Adds Mint First Class Between Boston & St Lucia

From 3 November 2018 travelers choosing JetBlue’s Saturday seasonal service between Boston and St Lucia will be able to book the airline’s Mint First Class product.

Here’s the currently published schedule:

Flight 363 BOS 07:30 – 12:19 UVF
Flight 364 UVF 13:44 – 18:59 BOS

The addition of Mint First Class to the St Lucia route means that JetBlue now offers the product on 9 routes out of Boston.

  1. JetBlue Will Resume Seasonal Mint First Class Services To St Maarten

JetBlue has confirmed that it will be bringing back its seasonal Saturday service between New York and St Maarten as well as introducing a new seasonal service to St Maarten out of Boston. The airline has also confirmed that both routes will offer Mint lie-flat seating.

Both routes will start operations on 16 February 2019 on the following schedules:

Flight 1487 JFK 10:55– 15:52 SXM
Flight 1488 SXM 17:30 – 21:07 JFK

Flight 77 BOS 07:10 – 12:20 SXM
Flight 78 SXM 13:45 – 17:17 BOS

What JetBlue Says About Mint First Class

Mint offers a completely rethought design and a more personal approach to service, addressing the needs of the modern traveler. Mint features exceptional hospitality from specially trained crew members.

Favorite Mint features include lie-flat seating, a signature cocktail, a tapas-style menu by New York City restaurant Saxon + Parole, fresh espresso from the first purpose-built cappuccino machine for a U.S. airline, amenity kits by Hayward and Hopper, and dessert from local artisanal ice cream makers based in Mint cities.”

Bottom Line

If I was based in Boston or New York I’d certainly be pricing up JetBlue’s Mint product to the Caribbean before I considered the offerings from the other airlines.

There’s no doubt that the airline has stolen a march on the legacy carriers by offering lie-flat seating on routes where the legacies do not and, when you see the likes of American making things less comfortable in First Class on a number of its routes to the Caribbean and Central America, it makes me appreciate JetBlue’s existence even more.
