Le Club Accor has published details of its latest promotion for Winter 2017/18 and it’s offering members the chance to earn up to triple points on bookings before 10 December 2017. As Le Club Accor Points convert over to Avios you can use this promotion to give your Avios balance a boost.

Le Club Accor is as close to a revenue-based system as you get in Hotel loyalty programs so, if you’re not going to convert your points to Avios, you’re not going to break the bank with any earnings from this promotion….but points are points and they can all be used to save cash down the road.

Is This Promotion Any Good?

Well, like I suggested in the beginning, this isn’t exactly the most exciting of offers but, if you have Accor stays planned (like at the Sofitel at Heathrow) its worth signing up and getting some free points or using the points to boost your Avios balance.

Boost Your Avios Balance With Accor Points

At the full-service Accor properties the standard Le Club Accor earning rate is 2.5 points/Euro (which, at the moment, is 2.85 points per GBP) so, in this promotion, you can earn 5 or 7.5 points/Euro depending on the status you hold.

If you have an Iberia Plus account (and you definitely should – read here why) you can convert Le Club Accor Points to Iberia Avios at a ratio of 1:1 – essentially this promotion allows you to earn 5 or 7.5 Avios per Euro (5.7 or 8.55 Avios per GBP).

Some Accor properties (like Ibis and Adagio) offer less than 2.5 points/Euro on bookings so make sure you check the redemption rates at your chosen chain (here) before you make any assumptions on what you can earn.

Use Points For Future Stays

As I’ve just mentioned, full-service Accor properties offer an earning rate of 2.5 points/Euro (which, at the moment, is 2.85 points per GBP) and Accor allows you to redeem those points at a value of €0.02 each.

Not all that exciting is it? 🙂

Still, if the standard redemption rate is 2.5 points per Euro that’s essentially a rebate of €0.05/Euro or 5%….which shouldn’t be ignored.

This means that, in this promotion, you can actually get rebates of between 10% and 15% depending on your status – not life changing but also worth having.

Bottom Line

If I end up booking any Accor stays during this promotion I’ll be converting my points to Avios as I can use those far more effectively than the points….but that may not be the case for you.

This promotion isn’t anything to get excited about but it costs nothing to sign up (which you should) and any bonus you earn is more than you were going to get in the first place….and that can’t be a bad thing 🙂
