Daily Getaways is a set of promotions which runs for 5 weeks every year and is sponsored by the US Travel association. The promotions usually include points packages sold at a discount, rental car elite status offers, discounted tickets to theme parks and other deals along the same lines.

The first three weeks of offers are now behind us and you haven’t missed all that much if you haven’t been paying attention. This week there are a few interesting packages coming up but, because of the limited number of packages being offered, they may be hard to snap up….but it will be worth trying.

All the following pages will be available from 1pm ET on their respective days

Thoughts In Brief

I’m not convinced the Fairmont deals are worth going for because they’re very specific and, for most people, probably not for properties that are all that exciting (where’s Hawaii?!)

While you couldn’t pay me to stay at Circus Circus some of the other deals look like they may be ok for a special occasion – I’d probably choose the Aria package based on the quality of the restaurants available  as part of the package.

The Orbiz discount looks very interesting but I’m slight concerned about the wording on the Daily Getaways site that mentions”qualifying hotels” without actually defining what a qualifying hotel is.

The Marriott eGiftCards are always a good deal with the $250 gift card offering the best discount – as there are so many $100 eGiftCards available and as you’re allowed to buy up to 5 each that may the deal I go for.

I’m not a fan of either the Venetian or the Palazzo so neither suite deal interests me – you guys may think otherwise.

Bottom Line

If any of these deals interest you make sure you put a reminder in your calendar so you don’t forget to visit the Daily Getaways site on the correct day and be prepared to go for it the second the sale opens at 1pm – some of these deals will be sold out in under a minute.

Personally I’ll be looking to buy some Marriott eGiftCards and I’ll take a closer look at the Orbitz offer and see if I can find out what exclusions (if any) there are.

Good luck to those of you who try to snag a deal this week – let me know if you get lucky.
